Closed-Cell Spray Foam Removal and Re-roofing in Cheltenham

Countrywide Roofing & Insulation completed a closed-cell spray foam removal and re-roofing project in Cheltenham, renewing the roof membrane and battens before reinstating the tiled covering.

The project also included loft-floor re-insulation, bringing the roofing and insulation work together within the same job.

Opening up the roof

Our team lifted the tiles and stripped back the agreed roof area to access the closed-cell spray foam.

The first photograph shows the exposed rafters during this stage, with foam still visible within the opened roof. Working from outside provided access for the removal before the roof was rebuilt.

Renewing the membrane and battens

Following the removal work, new roof membrane and battens were installed.

The progress photographs clearly show the new membrane across the roof slope, with blue battens fitted ready to receive the tiles. The work followed the existing roof shape, including its hip junctions and the area around the roof vent pipe.

These photographs record an important stage that becomes concealed once the tiled covering is back in place.

Completing the tiled roof

The tiles were laid over the renewed membrane and battens, completing the covering across the worked area.

The finished photograph shows the tiled slopes and completed hip junction, providing a clear comparison with the stripped roof and intermediate roofing stages.

Re-insulating the loft

The project also included re-insulating the loft at floor level following the closed-cell foam removal.

This combined the roof renewal with replacement loft insulation as part of the overall works.

The finished result

The completed project addressed the closed-cell foam installation, renewed the membrane and battens, reinstated the tiled roof covering and re-insulated the loft floor.
