Case Study: Removal of Spray Foam Insulation and Loft Insulation Upgrade – 45m²

Project Overview

Our team was contracted to remove approximately 45m² of open-cell spray foam insulation from a residential loft space. The scope of works included the safe removal and disposal of all spray foam under our licensed waste carrier registration, followed by the installation of new Knauf mineral wool loft insulation to achieve a depth of 300mm. This ensured the property met current building regulations for thermal performance, while also improving energy efficiency and marketability.

VAT Exemption

This project qualified for 0% VAT (zero-rated) under HMRC Notice 708/6. As the works involved the removal of existing insulation and the installation of approved energy-saving materials (Knauf mineral wool) in a qualifying residential property, the client benefitted from full VAT exemption.
