Open-Cell Spray Foam Removal and Loft Re-insulation in Guildford

Countrywide Roofing & Insulation completed an open-cell spray foam removal and loft re-insulation project, removing foam from the roof slopes before installing insulation at loft-floor level.

The project photographs show the change from foam-covered roof surfaces to visible roof lining and rafters, with roll insulation laid across the loft floor.

Before removal

The existing open-cell spray foam covered the roof slopes between the rafters and extended onto parts of the timber framework.

The before photograph shows how much of the roof lining was concealed by the installation. Existing boarding around the loft hatch formed part of the working space, with roof braces running through the loft.

Removing the open-cell foam

Our team removed the spray foam from the roof slopes, working around the rafters and supporting timbers.

The after photographs show the roof lining visible between the rafters, providing a clear contrast with the original foam coverage. Exposing these surfaces also makes them more accessible for visual inspection.

Re-insulating the loft floor

Following the removal, we re-insulated the loft using roll insulation at floor level.

The finished photograph shows insulation laid across the loft floor around the existing timber structure. This placed the replacement insulation above the living accommodation while leaving the roof slopes visible.

The removal and re-insulation were completed as part of the same project.
