Closed-Cell Foam Removal Beneath a Slate Roof in High Wycombe
This closed-cell spray foam removal project involved opening a slate roof to reach the installation beneath it. The work progressed through stripping and removal before the slate covering was reinstated across the roof slopes.
Opening the slate-covered slope
Lifting the covering revealed foam attached to the old roof layers between the battens. The roof was opened in sections, exposing the timber frame and the material beneath. The stripping views show the installation within the assembly, rather than only its appearance from inside the loft.
Working through the roof layers
The team separated the foam as the affected layers were taken out. Removed pieces were visible within the opened work area during this stage, with the rafters and supports gradually revealed. This was a combined removal and roofing operation accessed from the scaffolded roof edge.
Reinstating the slate finish
The later exterior views show the overlapping slate covering reinstated beside the chimney and across the adjoining slopes. The flat, dark finish gives this project a distinct appearance within the batch. Its story runs from a foam-affected roof assembly to an externally restored slate surface.
