230m² Open-Cell Spray Foam Removal in Doncaster
Countrywide Roofing & Insulation completed a 230m² open-cell spray foam removal project at a property in the Doncaster area.
With a steep roof pitch, tall roof slopes and foam applied to the gable walls as well as between the rafters, this was a substantial loft removal project.

| Roof layout | Steeply pitched roof with timber trusses |
| Foam coverage | Roof slopes and gable walls |
| Insulation provision | Five rolls of loft roll specified on a supply-only basis |
A large loft with a steep roof pitch
The roof’s steep pitch created tall sections of foam-covered roof slope, with timber trusses running through the loft.
The before photographs show the scale of the installation. Open-cell foam covered the underside of the roof between the rafters and had also been applied to the gable walls.
Although the loft had some flooring and lighting, the height of the roof and the timber framework remained important considerations when planning access to the work.
Removing the open-cell spray foam
Our team carried out approximately 230m² of open-cell spray foam removal, working through the roof sections and around the existing timber structure.
The initial assessment recorded that the felt appeared to be in reasonable condition and that the foam had not been applied deeply into the eaves. During removal, the foam in these lower areas came away relatively readily.
The photographs capture different stages of the work, from extensive foam coverage to exposed roof felt and visible rafters.
Loft roll supplied separately from installation
The insulation provision for this project was five rolls of loft roll on a supply-only basis.
This was separate from the spray foam removal service, with no loft-roll installation included in the described scope.
The finished result
The removal exposed roof felt and timber surfaces previously concealed by the foam. The completed areas shown in the photographs provide a clear contrast with the original foam-covered roof slopes.
This project demonstrates the scale of work that can be involved in a large, steeply pitched loft, particularly where the installation extends beyond the roof slopes onto the gable walls.
