Closed-Cell Foam Removal and Roof Membrane Renewal in Basingstoke
This project combined closed-cell spray foam removal with renewal of a perished roof membrane. The work involved opening the tiled covering, exposing the roof timbers and rebuilding the layers beneath the tiles before reinstatement.

Exposing the roof structure
Stripping the roof opened the spaces between the rafters and revealed the loft below. This created access to the foam installation and the roof lining, bringing the removal work and membrane replacement into the same working sequence. Scaffolding provided the external access recorded during the project.
Renewing the membrane and battens
Replacement red underlay and battens were fitted across the opened slope. Tiles were stacked above the work area while the covering was reinstated. Rebuilding from the underlay upwards addressed the roof layers that are normally hidden beneath the finished tiled surface.
Reinstating the tiled slope
The later close-up records tile laying beside the gable edge, with the adjoining roof area already covered. This project focuses on the connection between closed-cell foam removal and membrane renewal: opening the roof, removing the installation and restoring the layers required beneath the tiles.
