Closed-Cell Foam Removal in a Boarded Loft in Reading
Countrywide Roofing & Insulation carried out closed-cell spray foam removal in a loft with existing boarded flooring. The foam covered the underside of the roof around the timber supports, hiding the lining between the rafters and extending towards the lower part of the slope.

A compact working area
The sloping roof and substantial horizontal timbers defined the working area. Clearing the centre of the roof alone would have left the lower bays concealed, so the removal focused on the installation across the slope and around the supports. The existing boarding remained part of the loft layout throughout the recorded work.
Revealing the roof lining
Removing the main foam layer revealed the dark roof underlay behind it. The individual rafters and the spaces between them became visible again, replacing the continuous pale surface that had covered the roof underside. The work centred on the lining and timbers above the boarded area.
A clearer view of the loft roof
The after view records a clear change within the loft: exposed roof bays, visible timber members and a roof lining that is easier to see. This project provides a direct before-and-after example of closed-cell foam removal in an established storage space, without the external roof works seen in many larger projects.
