Closed-Cell Spray Foam Removal and Roof Renewal in Salisbury
This closed-cell spray foam removal project involved opening a tiled roof to reach a substantial installation beneath the covering. Countrywide Roofing & Insulation removed the foam as part of a wider roof renewal, progressing from the existing tiled slope to exposed rafters and replacement roof layers.

Opening the roof to reach the foam
Lifting the tiles exposed the foam across the slope, including the areas between the battens and around the roof timbers. Scaffolding provided access along the lower roof edge and up towards the chimney. The installation could then be approached from outside, with the covering removed from the working area.
Removing the installation in sections
The team separated the foam in sections and stripped back the affected roof layers. The volume of material involved made this a substantial removal task, with the roof frame gradually revealed as work progressed. Particular attention was needed where the foam met battens, rafters and the lower edge of the slope.
Rebuilding the roof layers
With the removal stage progressed, replacement red underlay and timber battens were installed across the opened section. This rebuilt the layers beneath the tiles and moved the project into roof reinstatement. The work demonstrates how closed-cell removal can form part of a coordinated roofing project, rather than a standalone operation within the loft.
