Open-Cell Spray Foam Removal from a Block-Gable Loft in Swindon

Countrywide Roofing & Insulation carried out open-cell spray foam removal in a loft with timber trusses and a blockwork gable wall. Foam covered the roof sections between the rafters and extended around parts of the timber connections.

The project photographs show the original coverage and the exposed roof lining after the removal work.

Foam around the truss connections

The before views show the installation meeting the rafters, diagonal braces and metal connection plates. These junctions required attention alongside the larger areas of foam between the timbers.

Our team worked around the existing framework to address the roof sections beside the blockwork. The structure shown in the photographs remained the reference for the removal, rather than a new framework being installed.

Exposing the lining beside the gable

The after photographs show the roof lining above the timber braces and alongside the gable wall. The edges of the timber members and the positions of their connection plates can be seen more clearly.

The wider view places these details within the loft, with the blockwork and existing aerial equipment providing reference points. It shows how the individual roof bays fit around the surrounding structure.

The finished removal record

The foam-covered roof sections shown before the work have been exposed, making the lining and adjoining timber arrangement visible again. Wider and closer photographs record the result from different positions.

This project is an example of open-cell removal around a trussed loft's existing details, including the connections and wall junctions that can be obscured by the installation.
