Open-Cell Spray Foam Removal in a Newport Storage Loft

This open-cell spray foam removal project took place in a loft already used for storage. Boarded sections, insulation rolls and household belongings were present beneath the roof, with timber braces running through the available space.

Countrywide Roofing & Insulation removed the foam from the roof slopes around this existing layout, revealing the lining and rafters above.

A working loft rather than an empty space

The before and progress photographs show how the storage arrangement and roof framework related to each other. Foam covered the slopes beyond the boarded area, including the sections towards the sides of the loft.

The removal needed to follow those roof surfaces while taking account of the existing working space below. The stored materials shown are part of that context, rather than evidence of additional services carried out.

Clearing the roof slopes around the braces

The team removed the open-cell foam between the rafters and around the timber framework. The central supports and diagonal braces provide clear reference points between the before and after views.

Following removal, the darker roof lining can be seen across the photographed slopes, with the individual rafters standing out against it.

An honest record of the work

The lower photographs show the cleared roof slopes from two positions within the loft. The diagonal supports, exposed lining and boarded sections make it possible to follow the work across the space.

The change at roof level is clear: areas covered by foam before removal have given way to visible lining and timber surfaces. The project demonstrates how the storage layout and the roof framework both shape an open-cell removal job.
