Open-Cell Spray Foam Removal from a Trussed Roof in Milton Keynes

Countrywide Roofing & Insulation completed open-cell spray foam removal within a trussed roof, where diagonal timber webs divided the loft into a series of smaller bays.

The collage shows foam coverage behind the framework and the roof lining visible after removal. Floor insulation remained part of the setting shown in the project photographs.

Reaching the roof behind the trusses

Unlike an open loft with a few large supports, this roof contained closely arranged braces crossing in several directions. The foam-covered surfaces sat behind that framework.

Our team worked around the existing webs to address the roof sections between the rafters. The arrangement of the trusses was an important part of the removal layout, particularly in the lower spaces beneath the slopes.

Following the individual roof bays

The before view shows foam extending across the lining between the rafters and up to the timber edges. The after views show those sections exposed behind the diagonal supports.

Several angles are included in the collage. Together, they provide a better record of the removal across the timber bays than a single photograph taken along the centre of the loft.

The roof lining revealed

The completed areas shown have a visible separation between the rafters, diagonal braces and roof lining. The extensive foam coverage has been removed from the photographed roof sections.

The result illustrates how open-cell removal can be carried out around the geometry of a trussed roof, with the individual sections of the structure visible again afterwards.
